Baan Ice serves southern Thai dishes built on recipes from the owner's grandmother, who cooked for her family in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Curry pastes are sent up from the south, and dishes use fish, crab, prawns and sataw beans. Coconut milk is pressed fresh each day, pastes are pounded in a mortar and dishes are cooked over charcoal. The Thonglor branch is one of several locations in Bangkok.
